The Royal Ship Hotel, an iconic establishment in the heart of the market town, Dolgellau, will be presenting “The Welsh International Food Extravaganza” in support of Snowdonia's newest food festival, Taste/Blas Dolgellau, being held 15th - 17th October.

Throughout the year manager, Bernhard Lanz, continually brings continental flair to the region with the regular International Food Extravaganzas. For the Taste/Blas Dolgellau event, a special menu has been devised where local produce will be used in original Welsh recipes with a unique international twist. A Mutton Loin and German Noodle Cooking Demonstration will also be held in front of the hotel on Sunday, 17th October during the Farmers Market.

Bernhard, his wife, Angela, and three children arrived in January, 2002 to manage the early 19th century coaching inn on behalf of Robinson’s Brewery. In 2008, they were offered the tenancy and have twice won the Robinson’s Seafood Competition held during the annual National Seafood Week.
Bernhard says, “Having originated from Germany, we have been warmly welcomed by the community and wish to reciprocate with a European touch in the heart of Snowdonia.”

Event Details:
• Welsh International Food Extravaganza, A la Carte menu and Table D'hote menu, 12pm - 3pm and 6pm – 9pm daily, 11th - 23rd October.
• Mutton Loin and German Noodle Cooking Demonstration, outside The Royal Ship Hotel, 10am – 2pm, Sunday, 17th October.
• Gourmet Overnight Special includes a 3-course gourmet dinner, overnight stay and breakfast. Price: £119 based on two sharing.
