For more than 20 years Dylanwad Da (“Good Influence”) has been providing good food and wine in the centre of the beautiful little market town of Dolgellau. Small, friendly, with a relaxed atmosphere, prices are reasonable, with service that is “charming, youthful and helpful”. Over the years it has won many words of praise in restaurant reviews and has been recommended in The Guardian, The Times and The Daily Post. It has been included in the main entries of The Good Food Guide every year since 1990. Chef/Owner Dylan Rowlands has not missed a service in all those years!

Y Sospan has a history dating back to the early 1600s, when the role of the building was somewhat different from the restaurant and tea room format it takes today. The building did used to serve food, but only as last suppers before the executions of its prisoners. Thats right—Y Sospan used to house the local gaols. But now is open all year round as a cafe and tea rooms during the day and Bistro in the evening, serving fresh local produce. We can cater for different diets and have a large selection of dishes on our menu.
